Grand-nephewof Jazz legend Django Reinhardt, nephew of the Gypsy violin masterShnuckenack Reinhardt and from a traditionally long line of musicians Lulo’s Latin-Swing Project combines pure Gypsy-Swing with elements of Latin music such as: flamenco, tango and bossa nova. The band is Lulo Reinhardt from Germany on guitar, violinist Daniel Weltlinger from Sydney, bassist Harald Becher from Germany, Uli Kramer from Germany on drums and keyboardist Sean Mackenzie also from Sydney.
LuloReinhardt is from an enormous clan of Reinhardts to which belongs his grand uncle, the world famous musician Django Reinhardt. “The audience often expects me to play exclusively in the style of Django Reinhardt. As well as this, I Have found a style of my own.” He is described as a spontaneous and spirited musician and his different styles come from a musical voyage to find flamenco roots in Spain, Latin and Brazilian jazz from South America, combined with his ownartistic stamp and gypsy influences. His name has achievedinternational acclaim.
In 1991, he founded “I Gitanos” with his fatherBawo and cousin Dege, touring throughout Europe.
