Friday 26 February - Kincumba Mountain

Well, last month was a great way to start off a New Year! Great music, great food and lots of great people. Why not join us again on Friday February 26th on Kincumber Mountain for another fabulous night of music, entertainment, good vibes and fantastic food overlooking beautiful Brisbane Water. We will again be featuring some more fantastic performers and another lovely selection of meals served by our hardworking kitchen volunteers. Bring a friend, a smile, a blanket or a chair to sit on and a torch to light your way and treat yourself to what has to be the cheapest and best night out on the Coast.

This month we are featuring some fine acts from around the country:

thumb_michael-peterMICHEAL PETER: Michael Peter is a Central Coast singer songwriter. His songs mix heart-felt vocals and unique and thoughtful storytelling with a blend of folk, roots, soul, pop and rock it’s a truly unique sound that is hard to pigeonhole and a pleasure to listen to.

Michael’s earlier EP releases have received airplay on Triple J, Nova and ABC radio. His live show has toured nationally playing festivals, café’s and pubs as well as supporting legendary acts including Billy Thorpe and Daryl Braithwaite. His brand new debut album “Something along those lines” is now available in stores and through I-tunes.

thumb_sangeet600SANGEET AND FRIENDS: We are very lucky tonight to be able to present, once again, a true travelling master of his craft. Those lucky enough to have witnessed a performance by Sangeet will testify to his virtuoso mastery of the classical Indian sitar. Sangeet travels the country performing and has, in the past, been a crucial part of several recordings by popular exponent of New Age, Healing, World, Fusion music, Tarshito from the Northern Rivers area of NSW. Sangeet’s music is the ideal accompaniment for a summer evening on the mountain.

 

thumb_homelessyellowHOMELESS YELLOW: All the way from Brisbane, we are very happy to welcome back Homeless Yellow. The music from Homeless Yellow is laid back and relaxed. Just the perfect thing to accompany a duster late-fall day, here in Berlin, where outside it was just a wet-snow mess. Early evenings are just the right thing for this kind of music. Just the right thing for relaxing after a stressed day.

Homeless Yellow sound like a laid back acoustic Gregg Allman or Neil Young, or possibly Kurt Cobain from Nirvana, with emotive vocals, and rhythmic guitar. I especially liked Asian Oranges. If you’re one of the many who like Nirvana, you would be doing yourself a favor to give Homeless Yellow a listen. GARY LEVINSON -- indie music review
