Come and join us on Friday on Kincumber Mountain for the April edition of BRACKETS AND JAM...music, entertainment, good vibes and fantastic food overlooking beautiful Brisbane Water. We will again be featuring some more fantastic performers and another lovely selection of meals served by our hardworking kitchen volunteers. Bring a friend, a smile, a blanket or a chair to sit on and a torch to light your way and treat yourself to what has to be the cheapest and best night out on the Coast.

Among artists featured this month are:

SUSIE PALMER:Bringing us an accompanied selection of her poetry.

mirrabookaMIRABOOKA:Mirrabooka is the marriage between two dynamic smaller bands and good friends "Hit N Miss" and "Out Of The Blue" and together these two smaller bands form a remarkable five-piece band of experienced musicians and their fans are absolutely delighted.

Mirrabooka are seasoned musicians and have been involved in the music industry for over 25 years. Combine all this talent, the musicians, the original compositions, three lead vocalists, delicious vocal harmonies, amazing flute solo's, organic grooves, with a unique original sound of beautiful acoustic music made up with acoustic guitars, mandolins, ukulele s, djembe drums, and bass, then thrown in some very catchy covers, you have Mirrabooka.

FIRST DRUM JAM: Bring your dancing feet, drum, rattle or whatever and join in our famous and frantic jam.

jesselockeJESS LOCKE: Over the last two years or so, Jess has played both support and headline gigs at festivals and renowned venues in Sydney such as The Hopetoun and Sandringham Hotels and The Basement where she launched her EP in October.

Jess’ growing live set brims with subtle, resilient melodies, and savvy, considered lyrics. They not only drive, but are also suggested by, the vocal melodies. Her songs are crafted like poems, little machines of intelligence, love, melancholy desire and concision. While drawing on influences from well-known artists like Leonard Cohen, Elliott Smith and Cat Power, Jess has developed her own assured and confident voice that takes these artists’ work as a point of departure rather than an ideal to be achieved. She’s very much her own artist.

FINAL DRUM JAM: Stay late and see the evening out with the spirit of the dance and drum! Enjoy a little more space to dance to the powerful beat of the drum.
