The band members have performed for several years with various groups including Gaspingo, Cundalini, Junket and The Chops, all of which have attracted considerable interest and exposure during their conception. The formulation of The Remnants derives from their constant desire to present new designs in contemporary rock music, whilst respecting surrounding styles such as jazz, funk, and pop music. A duality exists within the philosophy of The Remnants where there is a high regard for tradition, yet an aspiration to move away from the often-bourgeois undertones many formats are culminating. Perhaps an important point to consider when assessing The Remnants’ overall sound and style. The group’s ambition is basically to continue improving on its musical ability, whilst cultivating a wider fan base through increased exposure. Live performances seem to distil both these factors, and together with current and future CD releases, The Remnants hope to develop a stronger relationship with the music, and its audience.... |
